WELLFEST!, A Day in Motion is a celebration of physical activity and the pursuit of great health.  WELLFEST!  is a call to action from Bridges to Wellness to children, families and the community to get up, get outside and get moving.  Most importantly, WELLFEST!  is a collection of fun activities and games to encourage participants to rediscover the joys and benefits of being physically active.

Tell your family, friends and neighbors to join you, May 14th  in downtown Siloam Springs for WELLFEST! A Day in Motion. 

WELLFEST! 2011 will include:

  • Family Fun Challenge course complete with Hula-Hoops, Monkey Bars, Jumping Jacks, Jump Rope and Hop Scotch
  • 5K Run Race and 1 Mile Fun Run through beautiful downtown Siloam Springs
  • 5K & 10K Bicycle rides showcasing Siloam Springs and the surrounding area
  • Ultimate Frisbee games, where novices can learn the game
  • Culinary Delights explores food that tastes great and is great for you.
  • Fresh Start for those of us who are re-entering an active life and want gentle exercise options. Includes yoga, Thai chi and exercise balls.
  • Gentle yoga: Gentle Yoga is just that...gentle. A common misperception is that one must be "flexible" in order to do yoga. That is just not true! Every body, no matter the age, weight, flexibility, or fitness level, benefits from this highly assessable practice. It is designed to systematically open tight places from head to toe allowing fresh blood to flow into creaky joints, gently strengthening and lengthening muscle tissue, and calming your busy mind. Besides all the multiple health benefits this practice will teach you to find comfort and ease in the body that you have...right now, as is.
  • Power yoga: Power yoga is a blast!! Give it a try! This healthy practice is both friendly and challenging for all bodies, all ages, all levels of experience, fitness and flexibility. NO pretzel poses!! Easily assessable modifications for every single pose. "Power yoga is an amazing form of fitness that sculpts strong, healthy bodies. The results are dramatic because it is a whole body system, using full body movements that encourage the body to move as nature intended...     Activities are for all ages and abilities.  Kids 10 and under free.

    Preregistration is $15,day of event $20 for the run and bicycle ride. 

    The other events are FREE

    Attendees can participate in more than one activity.

     

    WELLFEST! is a program of Bridges to Wellness.  Bridges to Wellness advocates for community health and wellness.  Our programs focus on health promotion and disease prevention as effective and essential methods of controlling medical costs and improving health outcomes. Bridges to Wellness is a nonprofit organization comprised of medical providers, business and community leaders and acts as a catalyst to improve community health by focusing on  health, wellness, support, and prevention.
